MOBOTIX Q22 - the next big thing in video surveillance?
MOBOTIX the innovator of megapixel resolution network video and IP camera systems has announced a new megapixel IP camera that is set to change the face of video surveillance as we know it.
/Computer News Articles/ - BONDI JUNCTION, NSW, AUSTRALIA, May 15, 2008 - The MOBOTIX Q22 camera is equipped with a unique hemispheric (half-spheric) lens which enables the camera to deliver 360 degrees all-round view. The camera's 3-megapixel image sensor allows fast, long range digital zoom for clear facial and object identification.
The new megapixel security camera can be set to perform continuous pan, tilt and zoom to monitor a large area, drastically reducing the number of cameras needed in each location. The camera's form factor has great aesthetic appeal and will suit installations where the security camera system is required to discreetly blend in with the surroundings.
2-way audio is available via its internal speaker and microphone and integrates with VoIP systems seamlessly, allowing the camera to make SIP phone calls with meaningful, pre-recorded messages on specified events. The exposure windows function dramatically enhances the dynamic range of the Q22, allowing the camera to deliver clear images in most lighting conditions. The megapixel version of the Q22 is weatherproof (IP65 rated) and can withstand extremes in temperature, -30 to +60 degrees Celsius.
A range of install kit options are available for the Q22 for wall mounting, inset installation into false (cavity) ceilings, vandal protection and hard surface mounting.
The Q22 camera comes with MxControlCenter, a video management software developed by MOBOTIX which is license free. MxControlCenter offers recording and management of unlimited numbers of clients, cameras and storage devices. Users can record video continuously, on schedule, on alarm and/or on motion detection. It has multiple search functions for recorded events. The remote client feature allows any number of users to remotely access live video and recorded footage.
According to MOBOTIX, the Q22 IP camera will be ready to ship mid 2008.
